CAVAN welcomes Mn na h ireann roadshow!

Cavan Library Service will celebrate International Women’s Day this Thursday (March 8) with the first in a series of talks from the Pegasus 20918 roadshow – Mn na h ireann.
Dr Kate O’Malley, of the Royal Irish Academy, launches the Cavan tour series with a talk on ‘Irish Revolutionary Women in the Wider World’.
Kate is Assistant Editor of the Documents on Irish Foreign Policy (DIFP) series, a project of the Royal Irish Academy, the Department of Foreign Affairs and the National Archives of Ireland.

This year, 2018, is the centenary of Irish women winning the right to vote.

In commemoration, RTE History Show presenter Myles Dungan, and a team of Ireland s most sought-after women historians is to tour libraries, county councils, country houses, history groups and festivals with a unique package of lectures on the changing lives and roles of Mn na h ireann a century ago.

The Mn na h ireann roadshow, in collaboration with RTE Radio’s The History Show, is currently touring nationwide – and will visit Killarney, Dublin, Donegal, Meath and Louth this year.
