LOOKING for acting, singing or dancing classes for your child
Look no further. The Dundrum Academy of Performing Arts (DAPA) is now open for 2017 bookings.
This JANUARY, DAPA will offer a New Year range of courses in drama, musical theatre, dance and singing. There are courses aimed at tots (6+), juniors (10-12), teens (13-15) and seniors (15-18) all of them taught on the Ashfield College premises, at the heart of bustling Dundrum Shopping Centre.
The DAPA management team, a collabration between Pegasus and Ashfield College, includes personnel who are currently working at the very top of the entertainment, arts, broadcast and education industries, in every field from television to theatre, current affairs to comedy, opera to traditional Irish music. The Pegasus MD, John O’Keeffe, will sit on the board of the new school – which will give DAPA direct links to the Pegasus talent agency, TalentBase. The school Director, Danielle Masterson, is an established film, TV and theatre actor. Trained at the University Of West London, Colaiste Dhulaigh, Dublin, and the Gaiety School of Acting, she has worked with Pegasus and TalentBase, and previously as a drama teacher.
Ashfield College has a long and successful tradition in preparing students for the Leaving Certificate, topping the Irish Times 2013 School League Tables across all categories – including No. 1 Feeder School and No. 1 School for High Points in Ireland. This launch of a drama school will add to the range of activities and opportunities offered to its many students, both current and future.
